On April 30, 2012, The College Board announced the Completion Arch, an innovative, free Web-based tool that synthesizes all the publicly available data currently used to measure community college student progress and success. With over 500 indicators and an intuitive design that focuses on all aspects of the community college student trajectory, from enrollment through workforce preparation and placement, this is the most comprehensive and extensive data-rich tool of its kind.

On March 16, the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges awarded a contract to the College Board to implement a statewide customized assessment for diagnostic and placement tests in 2013.
