ACCUPLACER Best Practice Guide Now Available
Over the past year, ACCUPLACER testing and technology has evolved into a new generation of tools. This new suite of options provides students, instructors and advisers with individualized, specific information, along with recommendations and options for addressing academic needs. To help support your work placing and educating students, we would like to introduce you to a new resource, the ACCUPLACER Guide to Testing and Innovative Practices (.pdf/4.26MB). The guide provides best practices and case studies on a range of important issues, including:
  • Developing early testing and intervention such as motivating students with early assessments and proving the value of test prep by using ACCUPLACER.
  • Aligning high school and college standards by targeting interventions to improve college readiness, aligning curriculum with K–12 and college partnerships and creating a K–20 educational consortium.
  • Leveraging the enhanced ACCUPLACER suite for high school and college interventions by assessing multiple measures, confirming the reliability of automated scoring and providing strong results for a federal program.
Feel free to download the guide for use at your own institution.

There's Still Time to Participate in the Adult Basic Education Field Test
Around the country, more adults require foundational and basic education in order to compete in a tight job market. In response, ACCUPLACER is developing an adult basic education (ABE) test in reading, writing and math.

Field testing of the ACCUPLACER ABE test will take place from December 2012 through March 2013. If your institution has an ABE program we encourage you to participate in a field test. Each test will take up to one hour, including instructions.

The ACCUPLACER program will provide free ACCUPLACER units to the institution for each student who completes one or more field tests. Test administrators, proctors and students who complete at least one of the three ABE tests will also be entered into a raffle.

If you or your colleagues are interested in participating in field testing or have questions, please contact us at
